FOREVER WITH YOU Synopsis:

In the irresistibly sexy series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout, two free spirits find their lives changed by a one-night stand…

Some things you just believe in, even if you’ve never experienced them. For Stephanie, that list includes love. It’s out there. Somewhere. Eventually. Meanwhile she’s got her job at the mixed martial arts training center and hot flings with gorgeous, temporary guys like Nick. Then a secret brings them closer, opening Steph’s eyes to a future she never knew she wanted—until tragedy rips it away.

Nick’s self-assured surface shields a past no one needs to know about. His mind-blowing connection with Steph changes all that. As fast as he’s knocking down the walls that have kept him commitment-free, she’s building them up again, determined to keep the hurt—and Nick—out. But he can’t walk away. Not when she’s the only one who’s ever made him wish for forever . . .

Forever With You Excerpt:

I cradled my drink as Cam sauntered back to the pool tables. My mind wasn’t made up on the whole visiting them thing yet. Maybe I would. Maybe I wouldn’t.

“Want another rum and coke?”

My lips curled up at the sound of Nick’s rich, deep voice. We’d been chatting on and off since I plopped my butt down on the stool, and he had seemed happy that I was there.

Total bonus points lottery with this guy.

“I’m good, but thanks.” The last thing I wanted to be was drunk. I smiled at him, pleased when his heavily hooded gaze dipped again. “Are you guys usually this busy on the weekend?”

I could see that small talk was something Nick excelled at, which made sense, considering his occupation. He was an equal opportunity charmer. Women flocked to him at the bar. The other bartender, the girl with the pink glasses, seemed to take it all in stride.

“Not sure if you really call this busy, but Saturdays usually bring a larger crowd.” He glanced down the bar before continuing. “So you went to school with them?” he asked, jerking his chin in the direction Cam had roamed off to.

“Yeah.” Leaning forward, I placed my elbows on the bar. “I had no idea they had connections here. Total surprise.”

“Small world,” he said, echoing my earlier thought. “But you’re not very close with them.”

It was a statement, not a question. “What makes you think that?”

“Well, if you were, I guess you’d be over there with them. Or …”

Nick was observant. “Or what?”

One side of his lips curled up as he folded his arms across his chest. The movement drew my attention. I was such a visual creature. Not that anyone would blame me right now. The black shirt he wore stretched around well-defined biceps. “Or you’d rather spend the time with me.”

The twisty motion in my belly cranked up a notch. “Am I that transparent?”

“In the best possible way.” He picked up a bottle. “I’m glad you did stop by. Every time the door opened last night, I looked up and hoped it was you.”

“Is that so?”

“I speak the truth.” His smile was lazy. “Did you finish unpacking?”

“Yep.”

“Were there any more rat bastard combinations?”

I laughed. “There were a few more.”

“Kind of mad I missed out on them.”

“There’s always later.” I toyed with my glass as I met and held his stare. “So, Nick, do you have a last name?”

“Blanco,” he replied after a brief hesitation. “Do you?”

“Keith.” I grinned as he unfolded those arms. “I have another question for you.”

Moving in, he placed his hands on the bar. “Ask away.”

“Do you have a girlfriend?” My breath caught a little when he leaned in suddenly. Our mouths were close enough that we were breathing the same tiny patch of oxygen. “Or a boyfriend?”

Nick didn’t bat an eyelash. “Nope to both. How about you?”

Bonus points explosion!

“None,” I said, welcoming the tingle that swirled down my spine as his breath warmed my lips.

He tilted his head to the side, lining up his mouth with mine with just a fraction of an inch between us. I started to feel a little flushed. “You have plans tonight, Stephanie Keith?” he asked, voice deeper and rougher.

I shook my head as my pulse tripped all over itself in a happy little dance.

Nick’s grin spread into the kind of smile I knew left a trail of women in its wake. “You do now.”

Genre: Romantic comedy

Release Date: 11/17

Just .99 cents during preorder! (Regular price will be $2.99)

 Blurb:

Over my dead body.

That’s what I told Gracie when she informed me of her plan to pick some random guy she met online to get rid of her pesky virginity.

If anyone is touching her, it’s going to be me.

I shouldn’t even be considering it, but I can’t get it out of my head: her, under me, begging me.

***
Arrogant. Cocky. Prick.

Those are the words I’d use to describe my older brother’s dangerously handsome best friend.

When he learned of my plan to kick off my white cotton briefs, ditching my good girl persona once and for all by losing my virginity to the first eligible bachelor I could find, he flipped out. Said over his dead body.

He says if anyone’s going to do it, it’s going to be him.

I hate that I’m even considering his offer.

But I am … I sooo am.

Ever since he suggested it, all I can think about is his cocky smile on those full lips as he’s driving in to me.

But if we cross that line … will I ever be able to go back?

MONSTER PRICK, a sexy romantic comedy, is a spin off novella from SCREWED, but can be read as a standalone, as it features a new couple.

EXCERPT

Hudson

“What if I could help you?”

I have no idea what the hell I was thinking. The words just leaped out of my mouth. Listening to Gracie talk about kicking off her granny panties and popping her cherry with some random Internet dick…I guess it drove me temporarily insane.

But there’s no taking back the idea now. Gracie sucks in her breath, blinking wide-eyed. “What do you mean?” she asks.

What do I mean? Here I am, sitting next to the world’s most beautiful girl—drowning in her eyes, her scent, the gentle puff of her breath on my mouth that begs me to close the distance. I know what I want, but I also know what will happen if I take it. My best friend will rip off my balls and feed them to me. And I’ll probably deserve every second.

But sweet Jesus, I’m pretty sure Gracie wants this, too, and that’s enough to blow my better judgment to pieces. All I care about right now is making her feel better. In as many ways as possible. And if her slightly quickened breathing, blown pupils, and flushed cheeks are anything to go by…

As an experiment, I dart out the tip of my tongue to wet my lips. Her darkened eyes drop like a magnet yanked them. Yeah, bingo. Having a little black book as thick as the dictionary has its advantages. I know damn well how to tell when a woman wants me.

Exclusive Excerpt:

“I see the way you look at her, Edric. Your eyes follow her, you dance the longest dances with her, and now, you’re sending her presents. I’ve known you too long not to know that this is unlike you. You’re not Kael. You don’t fraternize with the Affiliates who parade themselves in front of you, hoping for a scrap of your time. Yet here you are with this Cyrene. What is she to you?” Daufina asked.

At her question, Edric paced the long room. She watched him through the silence and wondered what he was thinking.

“You told me once that you would inform me if you wanted to take a mistress—”

“I do not want to take a mistress,” Edric snapped.

Daufina straightened in surprise. He never raised his voice with her.

“I apologize,” he said with a sigh. “I didn’t mean to startle you.”

“Just talk to me.”

“Would you believe me if I said that I didn’t want anything to do with her?” His eyes were pleading.

“No,” Daufina admitted.

“No,” he agreed. “No, I wouldn’t either. I keep telling myself that I’m acting like a fool, Daufina, but then I see her again.” He stroked his chin as he tried to find the words. “She has this pull. When I’m with her, the throne slips away, and I’m just a man with a beautiful woman. It both intrigues and terrifies me.” He splayed his hands before him. “I can never be anything but the king…but when I’m with her, I want to be.”

The Shadow

Excerpt

Raven watched as William efficiently disrobed, neatly folding every article of black clothing (with the exception of underwear, which he never wore), and placing it on the vanity.

She brushed imaginary lint from her dress as he stood in front of her, naked.

He was under six feet in height, his body lean and strong. Raven took a moment to appreciate the definition of his muscled chest and abdomen, and the strong cast to his thighs.  Not even a statue carved by the most talented sculptor could create a being with so much perfection.

His face put her in mind of an angel with intense, gray eyes that now looked at her expectantly.

She hid her face.  “You said you loved me.”

“I did. What’s more, I meant it.”

“Love is a peculiar thing. I’ve seen it. I’ve even cheered for it. But I never believed it was for me.”

“Why shouldn’t a beautiful, fierce young woman hope for love?”

“Because, as you put it, human beings are shallow.”

“Love is deep.” His rich voice echoed in the bathroom.

“Love is having the power to destroy another person.”

William stepped closer.  “Are you afraid of being destroyed?”

“Destroyed, consumed, betrayed.” She fidgeted with the neckline of her gown.

William placed his hand over hers, stilling it.  “Love creates; it doesn’t destroy.”

His lips found the place where her neck met her shoulder. He kissed her leisurely, tracing the path of her bared collarbone with his mouth.

His fingers brushed her zipper.  “Let me.”

He undid her dress, dropping it to the marble tiles.

Her bra followed.  She was as naked as he.

His eyes roved her body appraisingly.  His pale fingers caressed her cheek, her mouth, and her neck. His strong hands cupped her breasts, her abdomen, and her hips.

His gray eyes met hers.

“The power you describe is the power you have here.” He touched her forehead before moving his hand to cover her heart.  “And here.  It’s the power you have over me. Power I haven’t yielded to another since I was human.”

He brought his lips to her ear. “Your fears are shared.”

With a slow kiss on her neck, he led her into the shower, standing behind her underneath a tropical rainfall showerhead.

Raven closed her eyes and lifted her face, like a flower following the sun.  The warm water soaked her hair and streamed down the generous curves of her body.

“I’ve never showered with another person.  What happens next?” William rested his hands on her shoulders.

She wiped the water from her face.

“Whatever you want. Just don’t let me fall.”

William’s gaze dropped to her right leg, which she was favoring.

“Is the pain terrible?”

“It’s worse after I’ve been lying down.  Sometimes I topple over.”

William spread his arm around her waist, drawing her back to his chest.  “Then I must be sure to catch you.”

She kissed him, reaching up to run her fingers through his wet hair as the water poured down their shoulders.

Her motions were fraught with an eagerness born of love and affection and the relief of remembering she hadn’t lost him.

He was hers.

Even now, naked, with a myriad of flaws few men overlooked, he embraced her. He embraced her imperfections.

He loved her.

His cool hands scorched her skin, splaying fingers wide over her abdomen and bringing her backside into contact with what rose between his hips.

She gave him her weight and he held firm, nipping and licking at her lips before enticing her to enter his mouth.

He entertained the intrusion for a moment or two then, with a growl, he spun her around, pressing their chests together.

Raven looked up into blazing gray eyes.

“Are you certain?”

She nodded.

“I need the words, Raven. I need to know you want this.”

“I want you.”

He took her mouth, his tongue alternately penetrating and retreating in a sensual rhythm.

She tilted her head, welcoming him, as the water continued to rain down.

Hands roamed over slick skin as their lower bodies came into alignment.  She touched his neck, his shoulders, his biceps, holding them tightly in an effort to remain upright.

William was not a tame lover.

In his arms, she sensed his control, his desire, and the war that waged between the two. But he’d never harmed her and had always focused his attention on giving pleasure before taking it. Usually more than once.

“You’re a dream,” she sighed.  “A dream of love I never thought I’d have.”

His eyes burned into hers.

Without warning, he lifted her, tugging her thighs around his hips.

He lowered his mouth to her breasts, tasting and teasing before sucking droplets of water from her eager flesh.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, feeling him eager between her legs.

He lifted her higher, hands beneath her backside, making sure he was correctly aligned.

“Breathe,” he commanded, his eyes boring in to hers.

Here was the vampyre, proud and powerful, teetering on the edge of control. He bared his teeth as if on instinct and his chest rumbled.

“Just don’t break me,” she whispered, pushing a lock of blond hair from his forehead.

William’s expression grew even more fierce.

“I won’t break you.  Whatever harm I bring to you I vow to heal.”

He swallowed her reply with his kiss.  Then with a single thrust, he entered her.

His kisses were as fierce as his movements as he pushed inside and withdrew, over and over.  His grip on her backside tightened as he lifted and moved her in concert with his own motion.

Raven clung to him, her hand trailing to his lower back so she could urge him deeper.

Not that he needed the encouragement.

Her breasts brushed against his chest, the friction teasing and arousing.

She ignored the warm spray of the water, the scent of soap and William, and the nagging discomfort in her leg and ankle.  Her focus was on feeling as he brought her swiftly to the brink of orgasm.

Before she could signal how close she was, she climaxed, her hand clutching his neck as she threw her head back.

William continued his pace until she’d finished, his mouth dropping to her breasts, drawing one of them into his mouth.

When she opened her eyes, she found him staring at her hungrily.

“I have only begun,” he rasped.  “Breathe.”

Title: Gabriel’s Inferno

Series: Book #1

Author:  Sylvain Reynard

Genre:  Adult Romance

Gabriels inferno

downloadhjdfgGoodreads Ι Amazon Ι B&N

Synopsis:

Enigmatic and sexy, Professor Gabriel Emerson is a well respected Dante specialist by day, but by night he devotes himself to an uninhibited life of pleasure. He uses his notorious good looks and sophisticated charm to gratify his every whim, but is secretly tortured by his dark past and consumed by the profound belief that he is beyond all hope of redemption.

When the sweet and innocent Julia Mitchell enrolls as his graduate student, his attraction and mysterious connection to her not only jeopardizes his career, but sends him on a journey in which his past and his present collide.

An intriguing and sinful exploration of seduction, forbidden love and redemption, “Gabriel’s Inferno” is a captivating and wildly passionate tale of one man’s escape from his own personal hell as he tries to earn the impossible…forgiveness and love

My Thoughts:

What can I say about Gabriel’s Inferno that hasn’t been said before. Well for starters, I’m ashamed to admit that I’m a late reader. Yet I still feel as connected to this series as anyone who has read it dozens of times. That might have something to do with the fact that almost every single one of my book friends has read the series several times and they are not shy or reserved about expressing how much they love it. As a matter of fact my friend Schedar practically shoved the books in my face and demanded I finally read them or else.

Review:

This amazing story leaves you breathless. It is a masterpiece of literature, a classic work of art that stands out like a rare piece. I was captivated by the use of old fashion cadences and the timeless romance that builds magically between two people who carry deep scars within their hearts.

“Look at me. Look into my eyes.” His eyes fixed on hers as they fluttered open.

“I’ll give you anything. My body, my soul, Take them. Take everything.”

Julia is such a gentle, innocent soul that you want to protect as if she were a fragile porcelain doll, beautiful and breakable yet strong of mind and will. Gabriel is almost the complete opposite. A man ruled by sin, unable to see himself as anything but a great devil; a fallen dark angel, not worthy of love. These two unlikely people find in each other the strength to be their better selves, to forgive and to love once again.

“For if you truly believe that kindness is never wasted, you have to hold tightly to that belief even when the kindness is thrown back in your face”

The detailed writing in the third person’s pov-or in this case the Snarky Narrator (Giggles)-flows seamlessly, allowing the reader to get lost in the true beauty of the words as it moves from character to character with little effort. I found this type of narrative quite capturing and easy to understand.

Mr. Reynard based a lot of the story on the Divine Comedy and love affair between Beatrice and Dante. Not knowing much about the Divine Comedy, I thoroughly enjoyed the teachings the story provides about Renaissance art and literature. It was quite educational and I usually don’t care for stories that try to teach me something but in this case I found the subject fascinating.

“Facilis descensus Averni,” he whispered, his ominous and preternatural words striking her very soul. “The descent to Hell is easy.”

Julia and Gabriel will go down in history as one of the greatest couples in literature.  I’m truly honored to finally take a part of this phenomenon and can honestly say that the hype is well deserved. When you read a novel with this kind of timeless quality to it, you can’t help but wonder how anything else will ever satisfied you. I dare say Gabriel’s Inferno has ruined me for other books. It really set the bar. Professor Emerson is a man without equal.

About the Author

Sylvain Reynard

I am honoured to have had my novels appear on the New York Times and USAToday Bestseller lists.

I was a Semifinalist for Best Author in the 2011 and 2012 Goodreads Choice Awards. “Gabriel’s Inferno” was a Semifinalist for Best Romance in 2011 and “Gabriel’s Rapture” was a Finalist for Best Romance in 2012, in the Goodreads Choice Awards, as well. The final novel in The Gabriel Series, “Gabriel’s Redemption,” debuted at #6 on the New York Times Bestseller list. It was a Finalist for a 2014 Goodreads Choice Award as Best Romance.

I’m interested in the way literature can help us explore aspects of the human condition – particularly suffering, sex, love, faith, and redemption. My favourite stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a physical journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he or she learns something about himself/herself.

I’m also interested in how aesthetic elements such as art, architecture, food, drink, and music can be used to tell a story or to illuminate the traits of a particular character. In my writing, I combine all of these elements with the themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the transformative power of goodness.

I try to use my platform as an author to raise awareness about the following charities: Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation, WorldVision, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and Covenant House.

Review *Hopeless* by Colleen Hoover

Title: Hopeless

Series: Hopeless#1 (standalone)

Author:  Colleen Hoover

Genre:  NA, Romance

hopeless

downloadhjdfg

Goodreads Ι Amazon Ι B&N

Synopsis:

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

My Thoughts:

HOPELESS is without a doubt one of the most touching, beautiful love story I have read, words will never do it justice.

This was my first book by Colleen Hoover. I didn’t know what to expect when I decided to read it. I had heard it was good but honestly I never even read a single review. That being said I delved into the story with an open, unbiased mind.

I had to sit back and wait, catch my breath, gather my scrambled emotions and then ask myself, why I hadn’t read this amazing story sooner? I wanted to hit myself across the head.

Review:

WOW, just WOW…

This book absolutely blew me away, it had me in a rollercoaster of emotions up and down with grief, deception, anger, love, devotion, HOPE. Basicly every emotion known to man, you will most likely experience it in this book.  I found myself needing a few chapter breaks just to come up for air and yet it was almost impossible to put the book down.

“I’ve been looking for you my whole damn life.”

Sky is a strong Heroine. She is smart, witty, determined and forgiving. One of her best qualities was her absolute honesty. The girl had no filter, she speaks what she thinks and I found myself blushing from her word vomits and wishing I had the guts to speak with such freedom.

“Dean Holder? Messy brown hair? Smoldering blue eyes? A temper straight out of Fight Club?”

Holder is absolutely dreamy, he is the definition of devoted. His love for Sky knows no boundaries, he would go to the ends of the Earth and back for her. He is that perfect kind of boyfriend who possesses the amazing ability of knowing exactly what to say at exactly the right moment.  I’m not easily swooned, but this Hopeless boy made me feel like a schoolgirl with his amazing words and gestures. Eventually I just gave up trying to keep it together and surrendered, he was simply impossible to resist.

I loved the flashbacks, they were some of the most intense parts of the story giving you hints into the character’s dark and convoluted past, yet I was always left breathless and confused, yearning to know more. This is not an easy read, you will cry, you will laugh and you will feel like a changed person when you reach the end. Still you will LOVE the power of this story, it was as emotional as it was beautiful and of course there is a HEA.

“The sky is always beautiful. Even when it’s dark or rainy or cloudy, it’s still beautiful to look at. It’s my favourite thing because I know if I ever get lost or lonely or scared, I just have to look up and it’ll be there no matter what…and I know it’ll always be beautiful.”

Synopsis:

In this sequel to the bestselling fantasy thriller, Angelfall, the survivors of the angel apocalypse begin to scrape back together what’s left of the modern world.

When a group of people capture Penryn’s sister Paige, thinking she’s a monster, the situation ends in a massacre. Paige disappears. Humans are terrified. Mom is heartbroken.

Penryn drives through the streets of San Francisco looking for Paige. Why are the streets so empty? Where is everybody? Her search leads her into the heart of the angels’ secret plans where she catches a glimpse of their motivations, and learns the horrifying extent to which the angels are willing to go.

Meanwhile, Raffe hunts for his wings. Without them, he can’t rejoin the angels, can’t take his rightful place as one of their leaders. When faced with recapturing his wings or helping Penryn survive, which will he choose?

My Thoughts:

Kick ass sequel! Love this series. I’ve been a fan of angel stories for a long time but Angelfall took it to a whole new level of awesome. This story will appeal  to anyone, even if angels aren’t your thing. The world Susan Ee created it’s a must read. Compelling, heart wrenching and one of a kind; unlike anything else out there, I guarantee it.  At some points particularly gruesome and difficult to stomach but impossible to put down.

Review:

“It’s amazing how many times we need to go against our survival instincts to survive.”

Penryn is one badass chick that oddly enough didn’t get on your nerves; I know shocking for a YA leading lady. The girl has a good head on her shoulders and does what is needed without the drama, I thoroughly enjoyed her character.

“It is painful to see that people prefer a bad guy who looks like an angel to a good guy who looks like a demon.”

Raffe is one sarcastic, hunky angel that you can’t help to root for. I loved the chemistry between him and Penryn, as partners they are a formidable team and the whisper of romance that hints here and there between the two is a great way to lighten the seriousness of the story.

“I look up to say something but he puts his finger to my lips and whispers, “Don’t talk. You’ll just spoil my fantasy of rescuing an innocent damsel in distress as soon as you open your mouth.”

The overall feel of this book is fast paced, and heart pounding. I love the semi- post apocalyptic backdrop of San Francisco in ruins as humans have to fight their way through monsters and angels to survive. Every character brought something unique to the table, some of my favorites being DeeDum-I’d say they are the comic relief and I looked forward to having them show up.  I wish I had gotten more of was Penryn and Raffe. In the first book I loved their witty banter and It felt as if I had to wait almost to the very end of World After to get to enjoy that again but it doesn’t take away from the awesomeness of the story. Looking forward to End of Days and hoping for the survival of the human race but dreading the possibility of not being able to keep Raffe and Penryn together.

“You’re not Fallen are you?”

“From everything I’ve heard, that would just make me more sexy to you Daughters of Men. What is it that you all see in bad boys?”
