Synopsis:

“The Dead List is a full standalone novel, coming in at roughly 93,000 words. It’s a Young Adult Romantic Suspense Yes. Lots of Romance. Sort of like Don’t Look Back, but a throwback to movies like Scream and the sort of campy fun ones. Think I Know What You Did Last Summer meets Scream. But with more romance.

That’s all I’m going to say about the book. I think a blind read is something different. A little fun.

My Thoughts:

The Dead List was an engaging thrill ride from the very start.

Another pop culture phenomenon by the incomparable Armentrout; It’s like the woman has a direct link into the psyche of the reader, she just knows how to write a story that captures and holds your attention from beginning to end.

Review:

17 year old Ella finds herself at the center of a murder plot, and everything points to the suicide of her best friend-Penn which occurred four years ago. Now, female students keep disappearing and all the clues lead Ella to believe that it’s all related to that tragic night four years ago, but the question is, who is doing it.

The list of suspects is extensive and one of the funnest part of reading a mystery.  I found myself making my own profiles and coming up with assumptions as to who could possibly be behind Clown Face (I know creepy) as if psycho killers weren’t scary enough, let’s add a clown mask. Shivers….Remember those slasher movies from the nineties like, I know what you did last summer and Scream, well it sort of has that same vibe, totally took me back to my teen years, I loved it!

Of course it wouldn’t be Armentrout without the swoony, dreamy hottie and of course we get plenty of that, as well as all the kissing and sweet romance that we come to expect from her. The mystery is well balanced with lighthearted humor and the romantic aspect of best friends that grow to love one another.

I say this is an absolute must read. It’s fun is different and is FREE, yep you heard right. Armentrout posted this story for her fans for free on Wattpad.  Unbelievable right, well she is my favorite author for a reason. I’m hoping for a novella maybe about the college years, that would be fun.
