Blurb:

Josephine Clark is trapped. A harrowing past haunts her every time she looks in the mirror, and she can’t escape the violence of her everyday life. More and more, her thoughts turn to Evan Salinger, the boy she knew in high school. The boy they called a mental case. A loner. A freak. The boy who seemed to know things no one could know. For a few short weeks, Jo had found perfect solace in Evan’s company, sneaking every night to meet him at the local pool. In the cool of the water and the warmth of Evan’s arms around her, Jo had tasted something close to happiness.
Cruel circumstances tore them apart, and four years later, the sweet memory of their time together is dissolving under the punishing reality of Jo’s life now. Evan seems like a fading dream…until he reappears at the moment she needs him most. Guided by Evan’s strange intuition, they flee her small Louisiana town, running from police and criminals alike, and Jo begins to suspect there is something more to his sudden return than he admits.

Over twelve days across America’s heartland, deep secrets come to light, buried pasts are unearthed, and the line between dreams and reality is blurred as Evan and Jo fight to hold on to their soul-deep love, and discover that there is more than one way to save a life.

My Thoughts:

I’ve been sitting on this review for days, not having the slightest clue as to how to properly put what I read into words. Let me start by saying that from the very beginning, we all knew that the Nocte Trilogy wasn’t your everyday-run of the mill-kind of story. It’s dark, it’s gritty and completely unorthodox; that’s what makes it such a fantastic series. I’ve read so many stories that nothing surprises me anymore, most plotlines are predictable and unoriginal. The Nocte trilogy however had me scratching my head and asking myself “what the hell did I just read” from beginning to end. Lux is a maze of twist and turns that bend reality and mystifies your mind. A refreshingly, unconventional story that will have you biting your nails and rocking on a corner somewhere.

Review:

The die has been cast, Has been cast, Has been cast. I feel it. The truth. It’s coming, And it’s dark,
And I won’t like it.

I devoured the first two books, and couldn’t wait to get my hands on Lux, I needed answers or I was gonna go crazy. Lux takes you so far down the rabbit hole that I suggest you take out your little, handy dandy notebook and start taking notes as you read along, just to make sure you remember all the details. There’s so much going on and so many aspects and retells of the story that at some points it’s difficult to keep track of everything and your sanity for that matter. You don’t know which way is up, down. Who’s good or bad. What’s real or not. Who’s dead or alive. It’s a carnival ride that makes your head spin but OMG, you love every minute of it! I’m such a masochist.  I have no idea how Courtney Cole kept her head on straight while writing this series, she’s either brilliant or mad; is funny how often those two cross. Nevertheless she’s done a freaktastic job with a unique story that truly stands aside from the bunch.

I don’t want to reveal specific details, all I can really say is that we do get the answers we’ve been impatiently waiting for, also the story is very open for interpretation and remember, the Beginning is the End. Okay that’s all I’m saying, good luck and if you need emotional support after you finish reading Lux, there’s a Nocte Support Group on Facebook.

Synopsis:

After the disastrous Planet X party, Noah Lake knows he must to learn to cope with his anger and bitterness, to learn to live as he is and not as he had been. He sets out on an impossible journey, alone, in the hopes of making himself worthy of Charlotte’s love, and to slay the demons of an old life that is lost to him.

As he makes his arduous way across Europe, following Charlotte’s tour, Noah writes of his experiences that will become his memoir, and it is only after reading his words that Charlotte comes to fully understand the hardships Noah endured for their sake; a journey that nearly broke him in mind, body, and spirit. She knows what she must do: show Noah that while she is the light in his darkness, he is the music in her heart, and that without him, she’d be just as lost.

Endless Possibility is the final chapters in a love story about acceptance, peace, and the bond between two souls who have found their equal in each other, and the happily ever after they both deserve.

This novella CANNOT (or should not) be read as a standalone. It is recommended one read RUSH first to avoid spoilers and general confusion.

My Thoughts:

I’m beyond ecstatic that Emma was gracious enough to write a novella for Rush-she is so good to us. After I finished reading Rush, I knew I wanted more. I started stalking Emma on Facebook and learned that she was writing Endless Possibility (very fitting name), and OMG it was a dream come true, more Noah.

I don’t know how Emma does it, but wow, her words are like musical strings that tug at your heart. Noah’s story was a wonderful addition to the rush series; a perfect ending to an unforgettable story. My words fail to describe the beauty of these books, Emma writes with her whole heart and it makes for an amazing story. Thank you for the happy tears Emma and for My Noah and Wonderful Charlotte, she was a delightful heroine.

Review:

In Endless Possibility we get to experience first hand the struggle that Noah endures on his trek across Europe as a blind person. His trial by fire wasn’t an easy one, but it was something he needed to do to become the man he wanted to be for Charlotte. It was truly an admirable journey, filled with struggle, pain and the promise of finding yourself again. Noah’s strength blew me away, his will to keep moving forward fueled by his love for Charlotte was remarkable. I was very proud of his character’s growth and endurance both mentally and physically.

Emma Scott delivers on all angles, we get some sad moments, happy moments and of course some very sexy moments between Charlotte and Noah that are sure to have you blushing or turning down your A/C. Overall, this was a fast and very satisfying read as far as novellas go.  It provides the perfect amount of information to close up the story nicely. It’s always a bittersweet moment to have a beloved series come to an end but when is well written, it stays with you forever.

Synopsis:

Charlotte Conroy, Juilliard-trained violinist, was on the cusp of greatness when tragedy swooped down on dark wings, crushing her hopes and breaking her heart. The music that used to sing in her soul has grown quiet, and she feels on the verge of setting down her violin for good. To pay the bills, she accepts a job as a personal assistant to a bitter, angry young man who’s been disabled by a horrific accident …

Noah Lake was an extreme sport athlete, journalist and photographer. He roamed the world in search of his next adrenaline high, until a cliff-dive left him in a coma. He awakes to find his career gone, his dreams shattered to pieces, his world an endless blackness that will never lift.

Charlotte begins to see that beneath Noah’s angry, brittle exterior is a young man in a pain. She is determined to show him that his life isn’t over, that he has so much to live for, never dreaming that she would become the only light in his darkness, or that he would help her find the music in hers.

The life he knew is over. The life she wants is just out of reach.
Together, they must face their fears and rediscover what it means to really live.

My Thoughts:

OMG, I ADORE NOAH! Okay, just had to get that out.

I breathed every word of this amazing story. There aren’t many books that have the power to touch my heart so profoundly, but Rush rendered me breathless. It’s a modern fairytale that laces it’s magic through the pages from beginning to end; Scott paints the picture vividly, like a true artist. Rush is easily one of the best reads of the year for me and a top favorite, I still can’t get the characters out of my head, ready for a re-read.

Review:

To be blind is not miserable; not to be able to bear blindness, that is miserable. –John Milton

I read this book in a sitting, unable and unwilling to put it down. The story captures your heart right away with its beautiful words and compelling storyline. It’s about overcoming great obstacles and finding a new path in life.

Noah and Charlotte are one of the most beautiful couple I’ve ever read. They’ve both lost their way in life, in a twist of fate that neither expected, leaving them feeling sort of stuck and unable to find the inspiration to move forward. The story tugs at every piece of your heart, the words are captivating and rich with emotion, I got all the feels and then some. It’s such an amazing experience to see the world through a blind person’s eyes, that it truly changes your perspective. I fell in love with every aspect, every page and with Noah and Charlotte.

I cannot express with words how much this story touched my heart and it wasn’t because it was super sad or super angsty, or filled with sex scenes, it was just incredibly beautiful. Put it on top of your tbr, actually, just one click it right now, you won’t regret it. If you liked Archer’s Voice, you will devour Rush.

Don’t forget to order the RUSH novella, for more of Noah.
